BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAY

The City of Maryville will once again participate in the Missouri sales tax holiday from Friday, August 2, 2013 through midnight Sunday, August 4. This means a break from both city and state taxes on qualifying back-to-school items during that period.

The Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday allows consumers to purchase qualifying items in preparation of  students returning to school, without being charged State and  City taxes on qualifying products, such as clothing, shoes, pencils, erasers, and other classroom products.  For a full list of qualifying items, please go to: http://dor.mo.gov/business/sales/taxholiday/school/consumers.php.  The Missouri Department of Revenue also provides a Q & A site at - http://dor.mo.gov/business/sales/taxholiday/school/faq.php.
