The sewer maintenance department is responsible for the care, construction and maintenance of over 50 miles of sanitary sewer lines and 1,045 manholes within the city. We have seven lift stations that force sewer from one location to another to gravity flow to the East side of town, these stations get checked on a daily basis. This department is also on call 24 hours per day 365 days per year in the case of a main line emergency. The crew also does locates for citizens or contractors through the Missouri One Call System.
This department also handles the mowing and maintenance at the Oak Hill Cemetery, including grave openings & closings.
The City of Maryville is undergoing a holistic metering upgrade and retrofit program across the entire metering infrastructure. This project includes replacement of approximately 4,200 water meters and conversion to an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). This project will support the current efforts of the City to improve customer services and reduce unaccounted for utility losses due to meter inaccuracy.
